Say good bye to the Downstairs Family Room

Well the time has come for me to decorate my basement family room.

Now dont get me wrong. I am so grateful for the gift my parents gave me when I moved into my home (i.e. blue and white checkered couch and love seat). without that, my family room in the basement would have to be renamed to the "empty room". I preferred the family room to the empty room for 4 years now.

Well I am officially changing the decor as well as the name. It will no longer be called the downstairs family room. It shall now be called, to infinity and beyond, the "game room." Yes I plan to make the room the location of many fun games.

The first step into the decor will be to replace the blue and white checkered furniture with a leather sectional. Yip it sounds yummy and easily maintained. The sectional will arrive on Saturday.

Later steps will include but not limited to the following: pool table, 50" or larger tv, DDR for the WII and of course new barbies. I will let you know how this progresses.

Photos will be posted after the first step. I will even do before and after so that you can see how it evolved from the downstairs family room to become the game room.

Now never fear. The blue and white checkered couches will not be kicked to the curb. They are good and well loved. My nephew has offered to take ownership of them. I can only hope he will post on his blog about their new life in his home.
