1. I am getting older. WOW!!! I get so tired hanging out with teenagers. Every night, I would just beg to go to bed. I know I am 44 and I am really getting more comfortable with not raising children. Raising children is for the young or crazy.
2. Energy drinks are my friend. Clearly a night of sleep just isn't enough to be able to deal with youth. Without these blessed drinks, going postal was a real possibility. After GULPING a Sobe Adrenaline Rush (sugar-free) I transform into a YW leader who is anxious to hear all the exciting things each YW wants to share with me.
3. Teenagers make me smile. I dont know if I laugh because I did the same stupid things OR if I just think they are fun. I enjoy them!!!
4. Dont embarrass yourself in front of a camera!!! I dont know why I haven't remembered that. But there are a few very noteworthy events in front of a camera. I really dont care about the kids seeing how silly I am but posterity too?
5. Camping in dirt is just not my favorite. I love being out in nature. I love being away from the daily life. I love sitting in front of a fire. I HATE SLEEPING IN A BAG!!! I HATE always feeling dirty. I ESPECIALLY LOATHE THOSE BATHROOMS!!! When I am in charge of the world I will require all these issues are resolved PERMANENTLY!
6. I really am very funny! I dont have many talents. But I can laugh at myself and others doing silly things. I dont care if the youth dont laugh. I am still funny! I will keep saying that to myself.
7. The future of this world is in great hands. These people are smart, nearly as funny as me, and very committed to doing the right things. Oh how I wish I was like that when I was their age. They impress me.
8. A princess crown on a 44 yr old woman works when camping but be sure to take it off prior to getting on the freeway.
9. Driving a 4-wheeler for hours at a time and squealing with the girls while driving on dusty roads will result in dirt in your lungs. This dirt in your lungs results in asthmatic feelings for at least 10 days afterwards.
10. Every youth needs to feel very important and loved. I enjoy that part the most of all. I love helping them to feel valuable! Sometimes it helps me realize that is how Heavenly Father feels about them too. What an honor.
11. Why do I have to work with some adults?!?! They tend to ruin priceless moments. Enough said on that.
12. Why do all the cool things that happen at the Draper Temple happen without me?! The angel Moroni was "installed" while I was at Girls Camp. I am beginning to think that all good can only happen when I am off South Mountain!!!
13. After three years of this lifestyle, I fear this will all end far too soon. Let me do all of this again for another year.

missy--i loved this post, and i didn't find it in the least bit boring. i always learn so much from you and your experiences, and i'm certain that the girls you work with feel the same way.
thanks for being my favorite auntie.
hey! She was my favorite aunt first!
Let's set the record straight.
Missy is my favorite Aunt. I claim exclusive rights since I live close and don't do the trendy thing and move to Idaho...
Missy, you crack me up on a daily basis. I've noticed that the Davis humor is greatly appreciated by the youth these days...
Jeff,
May I invite you to take a long walk off a short pier? Oh no, wait ... here's some salt just rub it right in! Yeah that's the wound right there! Oh ... man ... that feels good!
Carry on.
i sure hope the young women who get to spend time with you realize what a blessing you are to them too, and soak you up. and how jealous i am they get to play with you. i miss you lots.
May i also say how truly jealous i am. i haven't seen -->MY<-- Missy at all this summer and the girls in your stake have seen you tons!!!! But as Kari says "i'm not bitter." Energy drinks are the teenagers friend as well. Do you think being stupid comes easy? It takes effort and we need something to keep us awake in that process. i also have one question for the family. Who didn't tell me what a blue dart was?! i just figured it out this year at my girls camp (and it can't be real).
